2024 China Tennis Tour Jianxinxinyuan Tennis Open starts in Chengdu

On October 26, the China Tennis Tour Zhongjian Southwest Institute Tennis Open kicked off in Chengdu, attracting attention from tennis enthusiasts across the nation.

The event, organized by the General Administration of Sports’ Tennis Management Center and the China Tennis Association, is classified as a CTA500 amateur competition. It offers 500 points for the champions and features a total prize pool of 300,000 RMB. The tournament encompasses five categories: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles, drawing a remarkable turnout of 292 players from 25 provinces and cities in China, as well as international participants.

Launched in 2020, the China Tennis Tour has become a nationally recognized tennis brand that enhances the integration of professional, amateur, and youth tennis in China. This initiative contributes significantly to the development of tennis within the country.

One of the athletes representing the event, Guo Yilin, a local player and coach, expressed her enthusiasm about the opportunities provided by the China Tennis Tour. “The registration for this tournament is highly competitive, indicating a growing interest in tennis across China,” she noted.

In recent years, Chengdu has experienced rapid growth in the sport, fueled by its efforts to establish itself as a world-class sports city. The city has hosted a series of international events, including the ATP250 Chengdu Open and the ITF World Junior Tour (J60), allowing more local citizens to enjoy high-level tennis right in their own backyard.
