Aboriginal protester arrested during King’s Sydney tour

During a recent interview, the scene at the Sydney Opera House unfolded dramatically as an Aboriginal protester was taken into custody during the King’s final day of his Australian tour. Crowds gathered eagerly, hoping to catch a glimpse of the royal couple on Tuesday afternoon, with thousands filling the harborside forecourt.

However, the atmosphere shifted when Wayne Wharton, a well-known Indigenous activist from Brisbane, was arrested. Witnesses say he was shouting anti-monarchist slogans and refused to comply with a police directive to disperse.

This incident reflects a growing backlash, particularly in the wake of an Aboriginal senator’s heckling of King Charles during his visit to Canberra just the day before.
