In the first nine months, more than 14,600 China-Europe freight trains operated

In an exclusive interview, we spoke with representatives from China National Railway Group Co., who shared some impressive statistics regarding the China-Europe Railway Express. From January to September of this year, the service operated a total of 14,689 trains and transported 1.571 million TEUs, marking year-on-year increases of 13% and 11%, respectively. Notably, September alone saw 1,633 trains running and 171,000 TEUs sent, showing increases of 15% and 12% when compared to the previous year. Remarkably, the China-Europe Railway Express has surpassed the 1,600-train mark for seven consecutive months this year.

The railway department has focused on expanding and upgrading key domestic ports and rear passageways. This has significantly enhanced the transport capacity along the western, central, and eastern main corridors. They’ve also actively participated in the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, establishing regular scheduled services for the China-Europe Railway Express across the Caspian Sea. Currently, the service connects to 226 cities across 25 countries in Europe.

Moreover, the railway department is committed to improving the operational quality of the China-Europe Railway Express. They’ve expanded the full timetable and increased the scale of train operations to meet market demand, offering tailored services that deliver precise and diverse transport products. Additional enhancements include the optimization of the digital port system and the official website dedicated to the China-Europe Railway Express, all aimed at continually improving the customer experience.
