On October 26, 2024, the Guangxi Information and Communication Industry Skills Competition kicked off in Nanning, attracting representatives from 97 teams and a total of 388 participants competing in both team and individual events.
This year’s competition was jointly organized by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Communication Administration, the Guangxi Human Resources and Social Security Department, and the Guangxi Federation of Trade Unions.
The event highlighted the latest developments and demands in the information and communication sector, featuring six competition categories: telecommunications network administrators, information and communication network technicians, information security testers, digital solutions designers, AI trainers, and information communication sales personnel. The competition not only assessed theoretical knowledge through written examinations but also evaluated participants’ practical skills in real-world scenarios.
In recent years, the rapid advancement of new technologies such as big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence has raised the bar for skill levels in the information and communication industry. The Guangxi Communication Administration emphasized that this competition serves as a vital platform for building a skilled workforce in the region, encouraging workers to deepen their technical knowledge and enhance their abilities. It aims to foster collaboration and communication among enterprises, propelling talent development to new heights.
Guangxi is actively implementing its talent cultivation strategy, focusing on skill enhancement to support industrial growth, with initiatives like the “Skilled Guangxi” plan. To date, the total number of skilled workers in Guangxi has reached 8.4 million, including 1.86 million high-skilled talents.
