On October 16, the Xiong’an New Area kicked off a mobilization event for major projects set to start in the fourth quarter of 2024. A total of 58 projects have been launched, with an impressive investment of 37.6 billion RMB.
The project rollout is characterized by its diversity and comprehensive scope, focusing on four key areas: First, there’s a strong emphasis on effectively addressing the challenges of the relocation process, particularly through the implementation of projects like the National Energy Group’s Xiong’an Base. Secondly, the initiative targets the construction of critical areas, prioritizing infrastructure development in the startup zone and the Zangang area. Thirdly, it aims to continually enhance the city’s overall functions. Lastly, there is a persistent effort to reinforce Xiong’an’s flood prevention system, utilizing long-term special government bonds and other policy tools to expedite the implementation of several water conservancy and flood control projects.
At this juncture, the Xiong’an New Area is at a pivotal stage of large-scale construction, simultaneously managing the relocation of non-capital functions from Beijing. Notably, the China Satellite Network Group is relocating its headquarters to Xiong’an, while several educational institutions, including Beijing Jiaotong University, along with the headquarters of the China Mineral Resources Group, and the Xiong’an branch of Peking University People’s Hospital, are all accelerating their construction efforts. These projects are making significant progress in addressing relocation needs and supporting functions.
