Liam Payne, a former member of the globally adored boy band One Direction, tragically passed away at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 16. The news has stunned fans and the music industry alike. Reports indicate that Liam had traveled to the city for a vacation with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, when the incident occurred.
According to Argentina’s La Nacion, Liam’s fall from the third floor of the hotel was discovered too late, as he was pronounced dead on the scene. Alberto Crescenti, director of Buenos Aires’ emergency medical services (SAME), revealed that they received a report about a man exhibiting unusual behavior, possibly under the influence, shortly before the fall. He estimated that Liam fell approximately 13 to 14 meters, suffering “extremely severe” injuries that rendered him “non-survivable.”
Witnesses recounted that, on the day of the incident, Liam had been acting strangely in the hotel lobby, where he reportedly broke his laptop and needed assistance returning to his room.
In an official statement, the Argentine police confirmed the tragic news: “Composer and guitarist Liam Payne, former member of One Direction, passed away after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Palermo on October 16.”
