As of the end of September, the country’s cumulative installed power generation capacity increased by 14.1% year-on-year.

On October 21, the National Energy Administration (NEA) released national power industry statistics for the first nine months of the year. According to their official WeChat account, as of the end of September, the country’s total installed power generation capacity reached approximately 3.16 billion kilowatts, marking a 14.1% year-on-year increase. Notably, solar power generation capacity stood at around 770 million kilowatts, up 48.3% compared to the previous year, while wind power capacity reached about 480 million kilowatts, which is a 19.8% increase.

In terms of operational efficiency, the average utilization of power generation equipment across the country was 2,619 hours, a decrease of 106 hours from the same period last year. Additionally, major power companies invested a total of 595.9 billion yuan in power generation projects from January to September, reflecting a 7.2% increase year-on-year. Investment in grid projects reached 398.2 billion yuan, up 21.1% compared to the previous year.
