On October 10th, Anleju celebrated its 10th anniversary at its branch in East San Jose. As an organization dedicated to senior care and support, Anleju has provided extensive services and support to thousands of seniors across the Bay Area over the past decade. This celebration not only recognized past achievements but also served as a moment to look ahead at future opportunities in senior services.
During the event, Santa Clara County Councilmember Cindy Chavez took the stage to commend Anleju’s contributions to elder care and express gratitude for their significant efforts in the community. She remarked, “Seniors are the cornerstone of our society. They have built families and communities throughout their lives, supporting us all. As they age, they need more care and support, be it healthcare, daily living assistance, or emotional well-being. Anleju has provided invaluable support for seniors in our community, allowing them to live comfortably in familiar surroundings.”
Chavez also highlighted the comprehensive services Anleju offers seniors, including medical care, nutritional support, daily assistance, and mental health resources. These services not only enhance the quality of life for seniors but also help reduce feelings of loneliness and strengthen their connections within the community.
“We take pride in seeing Anleju create such a warm environment for seniors; they truly deserve this love and attention,” Chavez noted.
Anleju’s CEO Grace Li reflected on the organization’s achievements over the past ten years and discussed future developments. She announced plans to establish a new service center in South San Jose to meet the growing demand, with the earliest branch expected to open next fall. This new center will bridge the gap between seniors and their needed resources while alleviating pressure on existing facilities.
“We don’t just provide basic care services for seniors; we aim to empower them to live dignified, healthy, and vibrant lives,” said Li.
Currently, Anleju serves nearly 2,000 individuals across the Bay Area, with nearly 500 clients in Santa Clara County alone.
During the celebration, Chavez received a special award from Anleju in recognition of her contributions to advancing senior services and affordable housing. In her address, she emphasized, “Seniors in our community need our long-term support. The care and services provided by Anleju not only enhance their lives but also contribute to the overall health and vibrancy of the entire community.”
The event featured a variety of food and beverages, adorned with charming ceramic decorations that delighted guests and provided fun photo opportunities, complete with signs wishing “Happy Birthday, Anleju!”
Looking ahead, Anleju hopes to continue providing more resources and assistance to seniors in the Bay Area over the next decade and beyond. Through collaborations with the community and government, Anleju is committed to advancing elder services, ensuring that seniors receive the care and support they need within their communities.
