2 cases in 2 months- Man was arrested for armed robbery and a large amount of drugs were found at his residence

San Jose police recently arrested Luis Garcia, a man suspected of multiple armed robberies. During the execution of a search warrant, authorities unexpectedly discovered a homemade firearm and a significant quantity of what is believed to be illicit drugs at Garcia’s residence. This arrest represents a major breakthrough in a complex criminal investigation.

The case traces back to August 16, around 1:40 PM, when the San Jose Police Department received a report of an armed robbery at a store located in the 100 block of East San Salvador Street. Garcia allegedly entered the store and became involved in a heated argument with an employee, primarily over his attempt to leave with a large number of alcoholic beverages without paying.

When the store employee attempted to prevent Garcia from leaving, he pushed the employee aside and displayed a firearm tucked into his waistband, warning the employee not to interfere further before hastily fleeing the scene.

Upon arrival, police quickly gathered evidence and launched an investigation, soon identifying Garcia as the primary suspect in the robbery.

As the investigation progressed, Garcia reportedly struck again using similar tactics. On September 19, around 6:50 PM, police received another armed robbery report, this time from a store in the 2100 block of Fruitdale Avenue.

In a strikingly similar incident to the one on August 16, Garcia reentered a store and stole more alcohol. When he attempted to leave, a store employee chased after him. Garcia not only refused to pay but also brandished a firearm, threatening the employees to keep their distance. He managed to flee in a vehicle before officers arrived.

Following further investigation into both incidents, police gathered additional evidence and ultimately obtained an arrest warrant for Garcia, along with a search warrant for his residence. On the 9th, the San Jose Police Department located Garcia’s hideout.

The arrest went smoothly. After taking Garcia into custody, officers conducted a thorough search of his home. They uncovered a homemade firearm and a substantial amount of suspected drugs and related paraphernalia, indicating that Garcia might be involved not only in armed robberies but also in drug trafficking and other illegal activities.

Garcia is currently in police custody facing multiple serious charges, including armed robbery, illegal possession of a firearm, and drug trafficking.
