The Central Radio and Television Station, in partnership with over 20 cultural institutions, including the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China National Theatre Company, is set to unveil a significant annual documentary series titled “The New China in Art.” Scheduled to premiere on October 3rd at 9:00 PM on platforms such as CCTV Variety Channel (CCTV-3) and CCTV News, this series explores the evolution and preservation of Chinese culture in the modern era.
Focusing on the vibrant achievements of socialist arts over the past 75 years, the program showcases exemplary works that reflect social progress, cultural development, and enhancements in people’s lives throughout various historical periods. Through a captivating blend of historical narratives, dramatic performances, and reinterpretations of classics, “The New China in Art” aims to inspire the artistic community by drawing lessons from the past to reach new artistic heights.
In the premiere episode, viewers will be treated to a powerful choral performance that echoes the voices of 1.4 billion Chinese citizens, unveiling the intriguing story behind its creation. This episode includes a dramatic retelling of the iconic song “Singing for the Motherland,” highlighting the contributions of three generations committed to celebrating the achievements of new China.
The lyrics resonate deeply with national pride, capturing the country’s beauty and aspirations: “The five-starred red flag flutters in the wind, the victorious song rings out loud and clear. We sing for our beloved motherland, as we move towards prosperity and strength…” Actor Guo Xiaodong will narrate the inspiring story of how two generations came together to create timeless works of art using just their pens.
