In a recent interview, Mr. George Moghalu, the former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), discussed his current engagements with Labour Party stakeholders as he aims for the governorship of Anambra State.
Moghalu, who had just declared his candidacy under the Labour Party banner after departing from the APC, underscored the significance of collaboration during a gathering with the Labour Party’s eight-member caucus at the Anambra State House of Assembly.
“I’m here to seek your friendship, support, and partnership,” he said directly to the lawmakers. “You all are vital stakeholders in this party.”
Reflecting on his journey, Moghalu shared that after thoughtful conversations with his family, community members, and other key figures, he made a decisive move to join the Labour Party. “I believe this party aligns with my ideals and principles and is better suited to champion them,” he stated confidently.
He also highlighted his governance experience and accomplishments in both the public and private sectors, emphasizing that these qualifications would greatly bolster his appeal among the people of Anambra.
During the meeting, several stakeholders expressed their endorsement for Moghalu, recognizing him as a man of integrity. Hon. Paul Chukwuka, who represents Orumba North, and Hon. Humphrey Iloelunachi Anunobi from Njikoka conveyed their excitement about his official entry into the party, praising him for his remarkable track record.
