Speaking to Matt Chorley on BBC Radio 5, Reeves expressed that she has struck deals with all her cabinet colleagues. In a light-hearted gesture consistent with tradition, she also popped all the balloons that were set up in the Treasury to signify each department’s funding agreement. While acknowledging “the mess” her colleagues had inherited, Reeves emphasized the necessity for departments to identify savings in order to achieve a balanced budget.
